Head of the Denbigh Production Training Centre in Clarendon, Andre Anderson, will officially demit office today (August 22), to take up his duties as 4-H Parish Development Officer for Portland.

He will be succeeded by Derrick Wilson, a trained teacher and former principal, who hopes to build on the work started by Mr. Anderson.

During his tenure at Denbigh, Mr. Anderson was instrumental in implementing several projects. Chief among his accomplishments are the Bio-diesel Production project, and the Grey Water and Alternative Energy projects.

Mr. Anderson's relationship with the 4-H Clubs, began when he was a nine- year old primary school student. He later attended the Knockalva and Elim Agricultural schools, after which he obtained a scholarship from the 4-H Clubs to study at the College of Agriculture, Science, and Education (CASE) in Portland. There he earned an Associate of Science Degree in General Agriculture.

Mr. Anderson has described his time at Denbigh as highly successful, which has allowed him to positively impact the lives of many young Jamaicans. In addition, it has allowed him to share his time and talent with the organisation that sponsored the tertiary leg of his education.

He is eager to assume his new role as 4-H Parish Development Officer for Portland on August 25, where he believes the new set of challenges will only serve to prepare him for future undertakings.
