The 2008 Beijing International Media Centre (BIMC) has announced that the acceptance of applications for non-accredited overseas journalists will end on May 20.
The BMIC is designed to provide news information and reception services to all journalists without the accreditation certificates from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
It will also provide services covering registration, information, consultation, entertainment, transportation, accommodation and catering, in addition to assisting journalists travelling to other cities co-hosting events.
The acceptance of applications for non-accredited overseas journalists started on April 25. Interested persons should register at the BIMC official website: www.2008bimc.cn and complete the forms as required and follow the instructions outlined.
After receiving confirmation notice from the BIMC, overseas journalists should visit the Chinese Embassy or consulate in their country for temporary journalist visas (J-2 visa), declare their equipment at the customs before entering China and then visit the BIMC for accreditation and other certificates.
Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Jamaica is located at 8 Seaview Avenue, Kingston 10.
