More Computers For Jamal Programme In St. Ann
The Jamaica Movement for Adult Literacy (JAMAL) programme in St. Ann has received a boost with the donation of three computers by the National Commercial Bank (NCB), increasing the total number of computers to six. The National Housing Trust contributed the first three last year.
Samuel Lyons, Area Manager, said the computers would be utilised to provide basic computer training for 140 students attending the three adult education centres located in St. Ann's Bay, Golden Grove and Brown's Town, in the parish.
Mr. Lyons has encouraged students to "make good use of the training opportunities available at the centres", where classes are held from Monday to Thursday each week.
Classes at the St. Ann's Bay centre are held from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. - 7: 30 p.m., while the Golden Grove centre assists students from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and the Brown's Town centre conducts classes from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
